Senior Citizen Airfare
Senior Citizens airfare does not seem to be one of the most commonly vocalized airfare types, but the discounts do exist. Senior Citizen airfare works a lot like any other Senior Citizen discount, taking a certain percentage off of the total face value of the ticket to make it more affordable. Why do senior citizens qualify for senior citizen airfare? It is simple, and for the same reasons that military discounts and student airfare discounts occur--to offset the cost of air travel for people who may not be as readily able to afford travel as others. It is assumed that senior citizens probably work their whole budget on a fixed income; for this reason, whether this is true or not, they are not as readily able to buy airfare tickets, no matter how critical or dire the need for travel is. Airlines work hard to provide the lowest airfare for seniors that they possibly can, while still having to maintain a good standard of air travel. In the airline business, money is everything so do not expect too much when it comes to senior citizen discount airfares.
There are discount air fares for seniors on Air Canada and Air France, so whether you want to have a British, American or French vacation or you have business in any one of those areas, your senior citizen discount is secured--that is, if you are a senior citizen.
There are some robot sites that look up cheap plane tickets for you, or even try to find the lowest cost senior citizen airfare discount available out there for you. Whatever your discount is, or even if you do not qualify for any of these discounts, these sites can help you get the cheapest airfare possible. Delta’s senior air travel often comes up in these searches. If you are not a senior citizen yet, don’t be in any rush to get there as you may qualify for other discounts that the major airlines have to offer, but it is all about looking around to find the best deal for senior travel--and any travel--that you can. Happy hunting!
